Job Description

As a junior officer in marine operations, you will be responsible for supporting the management of our fleet of tugs and barges. This includes coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient vessel management.

The role also involves ensuring compliance with our QHSE policy systems, including implementing safety procedures, compiling statistics, and conducting audits. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating ISO manuals in line with industry standards.

Effective communication is crucial in this role, as you will need to liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, regulatory authorities, and vendors to ensure alignment with our business goals.

Administrative support is also an essential part of this role, involving the implementation of corrective action plans and assessing compliance with operations/SMS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vessel Management: Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Implementing safety procedures, compiling statistics, and conducting audits to ensure compliance with QHSE policy systems.
  • ISO Matters: Maintaining and updating ISO manuals in line with industry standards.
  • Communication: Liaising with internal stakeholders, clients, regulatory authorities, and vendors to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Administration: Providing administrative support to implement corrective action plans and assess compliance with operations/SMS standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should have a fresh graduate degree in maritime, marine, or nautical studies. Relevant skills and qualifications include vessel management, ISO knowledge, administration, and effective communication.
