Market Risk Management Expert

The Market Risk Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the bank's market risk exposures, ensuring they are managed effectively. Key responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing interest rate, FX, equity, and commodity risks, as well as assessing risk metrics such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress testing, sensitivity analysis, and back-testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze market risk exposures to mitigate potential losses.
  • Develop and implement effective market risk models to inform decision-making.
  • Establish and monitor risk limits across trading and banking books to maintain optimal risk exposure.
  • Collaborate closely with trading desks to understand risk drivers and P&L fluctuations.
Liquidity Risk Management:
  • Oversee liquidity positions, including Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR).
  • Evaluate daily cash flow projections and identify funding gaps.
  • Participate in contingency funding planning and stress scenarios to ensure business continuity.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure all market and liquidity risk activities comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review regulatory submissions to maintain accurate records.
Risk Governance & Framework Enhancement:
  • Support the development and maintenance of risk management frameworks and policies.
  • Contribute to risk governance forums and model validation to ensure robust risk management practices.
Systems and Analytics:
  • Utilize risk systems for risk monitoring and reporting to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to automate processes and improve data quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with Front Office, Finance, Treasury, Compliance, and IT to align risk management efforts and promote a culture of risk awareness.
