The Earth Observatory of Singapore and the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information are seeking a Research Associate to contribute to the Climate Transformation Program.

Job Overview:

This program aims to develop solutions for sustainable Southeast Asian societies through interdisciplinary research in climate and Earth science, ecology, materials science, artificial intelligence, humanities, social sciences, finance, health, and engineering.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct literature searches and manuscript preparation
  • Track online public discourses using sentiment analysis
  • Conduct statistical analyses using sentiment analysis
  • Contribute to research publications and presentations
  • Write progress reports and final research reports
  • Disseminate research results with support from the Principal Investigator
  • Carry out administrative work associated with the program
Requirements:
  • PhD degree in communication, psychology, sociology, social science, information, or computer science
  • Strong foundation in content and sentiment analysis, analytical skills (SPSS, MPLUS, R)
  • Team player with ability to work independently in a multi-cultural team environment
  • Demonstrate initiative, good interpersonal communication skills
  • Prior experience in sentiment analysis research
  • Internationally recognized research track record with journal publications and conference presentations
