MSCI Sustainability & Climate Research provides in-depth research, ratings and analysis of the environmental, social and governance-related business practices of thousands of companies worldwide. Our research is designed to provide critical insights that can help institutional investors identify risks and opportunities that traditional investment research may overlook.

MSCI APAC Sustainability & Climate R&D team is dedicated to localizing climate risk models, Sustainability & Climate analysis and regulatory-aligned solutions to maintain MSCI’s competitive edge in Asia-Pacific markets. Our team also publish regional specific research to build thought leadership and help institutional investors incorporate sustainable and climate data into their investment decision making process.

Responsibility:

- Develop and execute climate research agenda for APAC institutional investors and publish resulting content pointing investors toward ways to solve their key investment challenges using MSCI tools and research
- To collaborate with a wide range of teams (equity research, multi-asset class research, index, analytics) to produce innovative analytical climate models that reflect regional specifics
- To represent MSCI as a credible thought leader with strong point of view at conferences, external events and strategic client meetings
- To continuously improve how we think, how we model, and how we develop tools and solutions for investors globally on climate related topics

Your skills and experience
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with extensive experience in data analysis and quantitative models using primarily Python, Matlab and Geospatial data modeling tools
- Strong understanding of institutional investing processes, including portfolio construction, portfolio management, and risk management
- Expertise in climate risk analysis and modeling, and deep knowledge of APAC sustainability policies, climate risks and market practices are preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas in an accessible way and tell a compelling story
- 5+ years of full-time professional experience in climate modeling, research or related type of role
- Advanced degree in climate science, environmental economics, finance, or related field
- Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills in English and one or more relevant regional languages are preferred
- Familiarity with MSCI climate tools and research a plus
