Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineering Manager to lead our team in the design and engineering of mechanical systems, with a focus on piping work.


The successful candidate will oversee the development of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet relevant international standards, codes, and project specifications. They will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting professional growth and development.


This role requires strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of effective team management. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of piping engineering, design principles, and mechanical systems for process plants.


  • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, piping engineers, designers, drafters, and BIM modellers for process plant projects (incineration, water/wastewater treatment, etc.)
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring professional development
  • Establish efficient workflows, systems, and procedures for mechanical/piping engineering design work
  • Implement comprehensive quality control procedures for all mechanical/piping deliverables

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental Engineering or better
  • Minimum 15 years' proven experience in mechanical and piping engineering for process plants (incineration, water/wastewater treatment, etc.)
  • At least 5 years' experience in leadership or team lead role
  • Extensive knowledge of piping engineering, design principles, and mechanical systems for process plants
  • Proficiency in relevant industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.) and Singapore codes of practice
  • Strong understanding of materials selection, piping stress analysis, valves, and mechanical specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate mechanical system cost estimations for tenders
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D and BIM software (Autodesk, Bentley, etc.)
  • Strong leadership abilities with proven track record of effective team management
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for facilitating technical discussions
  • Demonstrated ability to control schedules and budgets to ensure project success
