Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Thales is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Singapore. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering innovative solutions to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop solutions to meet customer requirements, ensuring the integrity of the system functional baseline and architecture.
  • Define solutions that deliver the best trade-off between requirements, cost, schedule, and risk, meeting customer needs.
  • Ensure transversal constraints related to function are considered (safety, human factor, performance, security).
  • Proactively participate in technical reviews, including internal and customer-facing reviews.
  • Proactively participate in technical working groups to define technical solutions.
  • Prepare Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Problem Change Requests (PCRs).
  • Develop and manage traceability of requirements using DOORS, including functional, allocated, and product baselines.
  • Perform peer reviews of engineering documentation written by other team members.
  • Support squad members (software, integration, and verification).
  • Support the Product Owner (PO) and Scrum Master (SM).
  • Make recommendations on strategies to improve performance or productivity.
  • Identify risks and propose effective solutions early, executing mitigation actions.
  • Provide input into the planning and coordination of program integration activities.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, ensuring work is captured sufficiently for reuse across projects.
  • Provide technical oversight to squads within the broader team, ensuring designed solutions are implemented as per design and in accordance with schedule, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Define and report on KPIs for the function.
  • Work in accordance with defined Thales processes and practices, contributing to their improvement.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Postgraduate studies in Systems Engineering (desirable).
  • Proven experience in Systems Engineering (5+ years), including requirements, design, integration, and verification and validation.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering Standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 15288).
  • Proven experience in the ATM domain and related standards (e.g., ICAO, Eurocontrol).
  • Proven experience in developing products and projects in various methodologies, with a focus on iterative/agile development.
  • Experience with safety, security, and human factors standards and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve effective outcomes in a multidiscipline, multicultural environment.
  • Coaching and sharing of knowledge.
  • Capability to manage various stakeholders with different objectives.
  • Positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Comfort in facing and managing complexity.
  • Sound judgment and independent decision-making capability where necessary.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Desirable:
  • Experience in System Engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarian, Jira).
  • Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering and tools (e.g., Capella, Enterprise Architect).
  • Experience in working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • French literacy.
