This is an exciting opportunity for a Therapy Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our therapy department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to our clients and therapists.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting therapists in assessing clients' suitability for therapy sessions, providing valuable input and observations as needed. You will also collaborate closely with therapists to carry out treatment plans effectively, demonstrating competence and attentiveness in implementing therapy interventions and techniques.

In addition, you will record therapy sessions accurately and comprehensively according to predefined templates, ensuring meticulous documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes. You will also facilitate basic or routine group therapy sessions, assisting therapists in organizing and leading therapeutic activities to meet the diverse needs of clients.

As a Therapy Support Specialist, you will educate clients on the proper use of therapeutic aids and assistive devices prescribed by therapists, providing clear instructions and demonstrations to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

You will also contribute to the fabrication of orthoses and pressure garments as directed by therapists, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Furthermore, you will uphold the cleanliness and safety of therapy areas, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies to create a safe and conducive environment for therapy sessions.

Other responsibilities include managing inventories and equipment for the therapy department, conducting regular audits and replenishments to ensure availability and functionality of essential resources. You will also actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing insights and suggestions to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of therapy services.

Finally, you will perform administrative duties as assigned, including scheduling appointments, maintaining client records, and assisting with billing and documentation tasks as needed.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field, with a strong foundation of knowledge and skills in therapy support.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with therapists, clients, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and address challenges to support the delivery of high-quality therapy services.
  • Availability to work on public holidays, weekends, and retail hours, with a commitment to adhering to infection control procedures and prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of clients and staff members.
