Job Title: Precision Tool Engineer

Job Responsibilities
  • Configure and maintain production equipment to ensure efficient tool repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Restore stamping dies to optimal performance, meeting daily output and part quality standards.
  • Prepare tools for changeovers, implementing lean manufacturing techniques to minimize downtime.
  • Suggest improvements to overcome recurring problems, enhancing overall productivity.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust tooling at stamping machines, ensuring precise alignment and function.
  • Set up and operate production equipment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to manage tooling spare inventory and requisition, optimizing resource allocation.
  • Conduct precision measurements of products based on drawing specifications, utilizing advanced measuring instruments.
  • Comply with existing documentation systems, adhering to set guidelines for lean manufacturing.
  • Participate in lean workshops, embracing continuous improvement principles.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to strict safety standards and good 5S practices.
  • Operate basic tool room equipment, including surface grinders, drilling, and milling machines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum National Technical Certificate (NTC) 2 in Tool and Die Making or Diploma in Tool and Die Making.
  • At least five years' experience in high-speed stamping industry.
  • Able to read product and tooling drawings.
  • Able to debug tooling issues based on die strip / tooling progression.
  • Able to operate surface grinding machines and maintain tooling accuracy of spare parts.
  • Able to maintain carbide punches and dies, familiar with diamond wheel grinding.
  • Able to operate stamping presses and ancillary equipment.
  • Able to measure stamped parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Able to communicate effectively.
