Product Development Specialist

We are seeking an innovative and skilled Product Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for driving the creation of new products from concept to launch.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with experience in engineering, manufacturing, or materials-related fields. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop products that meet customer needs and expectations.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop products from prototyping to finished product
- Manage product creation process, ensuring timely delivery and meeting product specification, sustainability, and profitability goals
- Plan product realisation timelines and allocate resources for product releases
- Facilitate sampling and prototyping, identify issues, and address challenges in production/assembly
- Monitor progress, communicate challenges, and meet product integrity requirements
- Perfect products by bringing design ideas to life, working with cross-functional teams, and executing product development goals
- Improve internal processes and systems for the entire production line
- Partner with Design Team to offer design options and solutions
- Approve samples for production after thorough evaluation
- Build strong relationships and trust with stakeholders
- Monitor task completion and escalate issues if necessary
- Drive industry benchmarking studies for product improvements
- Prior experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Materials-related fields (plastics specifically)
- Project management or project-related experience highly suited for the role
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable communicating in Mandarin with our team in China
- Expert understanding of production calendar and key gate expectations
- Excellent organisational and follow-up skills
- Ability to draft clear written communication
- Ability to work fluidly within a team while keeping on top of individual tasks
- Knowledge of the supply chain process and product creation cycle
