Job Purpose
The Senior Client Manager is responsible for a portfolio of clients, driving growth with relationship leads and business development.
This client-facing role involves driving business development and growth in line with the goals of the client team. The role also provides support on projects that enhance client relationships and revenue generation.
The role-holder has direct contact with clients, enabling them to play a part in driving the Firm's client growth strategy. They work collaboratively with colleagues to develop large client relationships.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of the portfolio of accounts and industries they operate in.
- Assess how the Firm faces the client organization and determine relationships to protect, strengthen or exploit for growth.
- Develop and implement the global client plan and tactical actions in conjunction with colleagues.
- Challenge thinking, influence and coach colleagues on pursuits, networking and day-to-day business activities.
- Spot opportunities for revenue growth and target them with relevant team members.
- Undertake research and analysis to identify relationship development and growth opportunities.
- Act as a conduit between the client and the team, facilitating introductions and managing secondments.
- Prepare reports, tailoring communications and analyzing data.
- Conduct listening/feedback covering relationship and post-review to ensure a positive client experience.
- Coordinate secondments internally and directly with the client, conduct briefings and ensure strategic secondments are fully exploited.
- Assist with panel pitches and provide necessary guidance and input into local office and practice-specific pitches.
- Act as the key point of contact for internal queries and serve as the client's ambassador within the firm.
Technical Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's or related commercial qualifications preferred.
- Significant experience in professional services or financial services, strong Client Relationship Manager experience.
- Experience managing others/teams in marketing and/or business development roles, preferably in professional services.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills and outstanding attention to detail.
- Commercial acumen, deep understanding of client/business planning gained through senior-level business experience.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of law firm financial levers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage key internal and external relationships and projects across the global organization.
- Savvy in understanding and adapting to different cultures across the firm.
- Able to readjust and reorganize plans and deal with change.
