Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Assistant Chief Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of facilities to meet customer expectations.

  • Assists in implementing preventive maintenance and repair schedules for all machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Coordinates duty rosters for maintenance staff and conducts daily briefings to assign tasks.
  • Executes administrative tasks such as inventory management, record keeping, and ensures adherence to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Obtains quotations from external agencies/suppliers and purchases necessary items.
  • Contributes to cost optimization by minimizing wastage, negligence, or dishonesty.

The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Possesses a Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services or equivalent qualification.
  • Has at least 3 years of experience in engineering management with similar responsibilities.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with suppliers, contractors, and government bodies.
  • Exposure to purchasing and cost control is beneficial.
  • Able to utilize Microsoft Office applications for report preparation.
