Job Title: Child Welfare Expert

Job Description

The role of the Child Welfare Expert is to contribute to the advancement of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in Singapore. This involves coordinating and drafting the organisation's alternative report, including research assistance, collation, drafting sections and documentation.

This also entails supporting the tracking, monitoring and follow up of the recommendations in the lead up to the next reporting cycle.

The Child Welfare Expert will also support general advocacy matters of the organisation, including conducting basic research, such as information gathering and literature review, surveys and focus group discussions.

Synthesising information and inputs and drafting reports is another key responsibility of this role.

Engaging with external partners, including policy makers, is also an essential duty of the Child Welfare Expert.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Communications or any other comparable fields of study.
  • At least 3 years' experience in roles within the social services field, policy work or journalism sector.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, writing skills and basic research skills.
  • Keen curiosity and interest in unearthing and plugging gaps that exist in policies and systems.
