Key Responsibilities

As a Commercial Lines Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth while maintaining profitable underwriting. You will be responsible for underwriting and assessing presented Commercial Lines risks according to guidelines and protocols.

  • Underwrite and assess presented Commercial Lines risks according to guidelines and protocols to secure profitable business.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive business, provide solutions, and deliver value to clients as part of managing one's commercial lines portfolio.
  • Provide technical advice on commercial line products to intermediaries, clients, and fellow staff as needed.
  • Drive business growth while being mindful of underwriting profits and team/individual performance.
  • Maintain good risk and corporate governance by adhering to industry best practices and regulatory guidelines.
  • Share knowledge, support, and drive synergy and morale within the work team to promote efficiency and productivity in the Business Unit.
  • Aid with problem-solving and conflict resolution efforts as needed.
  • Build relationships and participate in key marketing efforts with a given portfolio of intermediaries.
  • Ensure turnaround times are met to maintain speed to market through effective time management.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in Commercial Lines Insurance industry in a similar capacity preferred.
  • Self-motivated and open-mindedness.
  • Ability to multi-task while being meticulous and working well under pressure.
  • Effective time manager with a willingness to learn.
  • Sociable yet disciplined, able to work in/with teams and/or independently.
  • Candidates with insurance certifications preferred.
