Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Specialist to join our Front Office Support Services (FOSS) function at Bank of Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling pre-processing checks for client-related payments, performing callback verification on required transactions, and ensuring compliance with procedures and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-processing checks for payments, including ensuring all relevant approvals are obtained and instructions are provided by Business adhere to client's signing mandate and procedure.
  • Escalate any deviations to procedure and ensure coverage includes payments, internal transfers, cheque issuance, cash withdrawals, and standby letters of credit/banker's guarantees.
  • Conduct callback verification on asset transfers and static updates, ensuring compliance with procedures and policies.
  • Retrieve and verify callback performed by Business prior to processing by the respective operations team.
  • Handle BAU-type queries/issues, ensuring cases are resolved or properly escalated in a timely manner.
  • Perform end-of-day control checks and ensure BAU tasks are completed.
  • Act as a control unit, identifying risk issues while interacting with Front Office.
  • Ensure exception processing is completed exactly according to the conditions set in the approval.
  • Perform an end-of-day review to ensure tasks are completed by signing off on the end-of-day checklist.
  • Resolve queries from Business within the expected timeframe or escalate to the correct parties.
  • Identify control gaps and work with the team to review process efficiency and deliver improvements.
  • Participate in projects as required.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Private Bank Operations, especially in the area of remittances, callback, or client service roles.
  • Tertiary education with a good academic track record.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of foreign languages is a plus.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with all levels of staff.
  • Client-oriented mindset.
  • Meticulous and good team player.
  • Ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward until delivery.
  • Ability to work effectively with both Front Office and Support staff, at all levels.
  • Ability to work and deliver under time pressure.
  • Proactive in identifying process gaps, providing or suggesting solutions to improve productivity.
  • Ability to perform ad-hoc system testing.
