Geotechnical Engineer

The primary goal of this role is to provide high-quality geotechnical consulting services. To achieve this, the engineer must have a thorough understanding of local design regulations and be able to work effectively with people at all levels.

Responsibilities:
  • Work independently within a defined area of responsibility, including specific parts of external design projects.
  • Check the quality and accuracy of your own and others' work, and develop others through guidance, training, and feedback.
  • Provide detailed design work across a broad range of geotechnical engineering projects, including interpreting geotechnical parameters from site data, foundation design, and retaining structure design.
  • Prepare project reports summarizing key assumptions, design methodologies, conclusions, and recommendations.

Additionally, the engineer shall ensure adherence to all legislative requirements and other regulations governing Occupational Health and Safety within the office and on all projects.

Requirements:
  • Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a similar area; preferably a Master's degree specialized in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in Geotechnical Engineering within a consulting business environment.
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions or significant progress towards eligibility for membership.
  • Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines, including OH&S.
