Sustainability Specialist

The key role of the Sustainability Specialist is to drive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) excellence within an organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • ESG Strategy Execution: Provide expert guidance to support the implementation of an ESG strategy.
  • ESG Risk & Opportunity Assessment: Identify and assess ESG related risks and opportunities across the organization and its business units.
  • Policy and Governance: Develop and review ESG-related policies, standards, and frameworks to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • ESG Integration in Investment Processes: Identify processes and decision-making tools to incorporate ESG considerations into investment evaluations.
  • Decarbonisation Planning and Carbon Management: Lead carbon footprint assessments across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, and develop decarbonisation strategies aligned with national and international targets.

Other key responsibilities include managing and overseeing ESG data collection, validation, and reporting, leading third-party assurance processes, and engaging with external stakeholders. The Sustainability Specialist will also provide coaching and support to team members within the sustainability function and across business units.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Business, or a related field, and a proven track record in ESG reporting and strategy implementation. A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in sustainability or ESG-related roles is required, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment.
