Communicable Diseases Professional

The role of a Communicable Diseases Professional is to oversee Singapore's communicable disease preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response. This involves managing a team that carries out epidemic intelligence, risk assessment and risk communications activities pertaining to global infectious disease threats.

This dynamic position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for identifying, verifying, triaging, assessing and communicating global public health signals, events, and threats.

In addition, you will lead the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency in epidemic intelligence and risk assessment. Your expertise will also be required to communicate with overseas health authorities and international health organizations to fulfill Singapore's international public health responsibilities and obligations.

To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in health science, public health, epidemiology or related fields. A minimum of 4 years of work experience in public health, including at least 2 years in a leadership role, is essential. You must also have an agile and analytical mindset, be able to spot details easily and maintain a precautionary attitude. Resilience under pressure and good communication skills are also vital.
