Job Title: Senior Research Scientist

Job Description:

The position of Senior Research Scientist is available in a renowned research centre. The successful candidate will work on optics, nonlinear optics, spectroscopy, and metrology projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other team members to conduct cutting-edge research and development projects.
  • Take a leading role in designing and developing systems for bioimaging and metrology.
  • Conduct and coordinate research within the university and collaborating partners, aligning with the institution's research strategy under the supervision of the PIs and collaborators.
  • Publish research outcomes in reputable international journals, present research findings at academic conferences, and contribute to the external visibility of the centre.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field with expertise in optics, spectroscopy, and instrumentation.
  • Previous experience in optics, nonlinear optics, optical measurement technologies, spectroscopy, metrology, and machine vision is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with handling high-power CW and pulsed laser systems, spectrometers, high-resolution cameras, and delicate optical components is advantageous.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C++, LabVIEW, Zemax, OSLO, TracePro, MATLAB, Python, and ImageJ are essential.
  • A proven publication track record would be an advantage.
