Health Screening Operations Specialist

This role is crucial to the success of our health assessment operations, contributing significantly to a comprehensive understanding of disease aetiology in urban Asian settings.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Health Screening Operations Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for participating in operational planning, developing and documenting Work Instructions (WI) and SOPs for the data collection protocol, sourcing and coordinating with vendors for procurement and supply of services or goods required for health screening operations, performing health screening procedures according to WI and SOPs, ensuring participant safety and privacy through adherence to established guidelines and work practices, participating in or conducting periodic technical re-assessments to ensure standardization and consistency in data collection and image acquisition, and implementing new procedures for future research projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in operational planning and development of WIs and SOPs for data collection protocol
  • Source and coordinate with vendors for procurement and supply of services or goods required for health screening operations
  • Perform health screening procedures according to WI and SOPs
  • Ensure participant safety and privacy through adherence to established guidelines and work practices
  • Participate in or conduct periodic technical re-assessments to ensure standardization and consistency in data collection and image acquisition
  • Implement new procedures for future research projects
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Degree in Life Sciences / Biomedical Sciences or relevant fields from recognized institutions
  • Ability to interact with people of various age groups and backgrounds
  • Fluency in spoken Mandarin/Chinese Dialects/Malay/Tamil will be an advantage
  • Phlebotomy skill would be an advantage
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task

Benefits:

  • 42-hour work week: Monday to Friday (7:45am to 6:15pm) and 2 designated Saturdays (7:45am to 3:15pm) per month
  • Work location: NUS, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health
  • Opportunity to take on supervisory role to train and assess trainees involved in research operations

We are a population-based health research initiative at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. Our mission is to investigate the interactions between lifestyle, physiological, genetic and other omics biomarkers and their impact on health and longevity.

We include over 50,000 adult Singaporeans and long-term residents from three major ethnic groups (Chinese, Malay, and Indian) in our studies. This enables us to better understand disease aetiology in urban Asian settings and develop improved preventive and therapeutic measures for Singapore and other Asian populations.
