Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Capital Projects Lead to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial standards, equipment, systems, and maintenance, as well as knowledge of best engineering practices, GMP, GEP, and EHS requirements.

About the Role

The Capital Projects Lead will be responsible for managing a team of project engineers and designers to ensure the successful delivery of capital projects. This includes planning and facilitating annual physical condition assessments for plant and facilities, developing action plans with area owners and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and Project Management Framework (PMF).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of project engineers and designers to deliver capital projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Plan and facilitate annual physical condition assessments for plant and facilities.
  • Develop action plans with area owners and stakeholders to address any issues identified during assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and PMF.
  • Lead and manage the implementation of major and minor capital projects with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Drive effective delivery of capital projects through the use of project management tools and frameworks.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline, with at least 10 years' experience in the chemical/pharmaceutical industry. They will also have experience managing projects worth over £20 million and a strong understanding of industrial standards, equipment, systems, and maintenance. In addition, they will have knowledge of best engineering practices, GMP, GEP, and EHS requirements, as well as good commercial knowledge, including contractual law.
