Job Description:

The NOC and CLS Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational integrity of the submarine cable network and cable landing station. This ensures uninterrupted communication and data transmission.

This position requires a strong understanding of submarine cable systems, networking principles, and telecommunications technologies.

  • Network Monitoring: Monitor the submarine cable network and systems 24/7. Detect and respond to anomalies, outages, and performance issues.
  • Incident Management: Identify and assess network and landing station incidents. Troubleshoot and resolve or escalate issues.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze performance data and recommend improvements. Implement strategies to enhance network capacity and reliability.

This role involves reviewing and approving planned network changes, coordinating maintenance and upgrades with engineering teams, providing technical support to customers, managing co-location services, and troubleshooting connections.

Maintaining accurate records of events, incidents, and actions is crucial in this position, as well as implementing measures to prevent potential issues, conducting routine checks and system updates, and adhering to industry regulations and security protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience with a telecommunication service provider or a major transmission equipment vendor.
  • Prior experience in Submarine Cable Landing Station, NOC environment, and/or optical transmission is highly desirable.
  • Graduate or Diploma in Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar qualifications are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of submarine cable systems, networking principles, and telecommunications technologies.
