Job Description

As a Lead Early Interventionist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational and therapy support services for young children with disabilities. Our early intervention programme aims to empower these children by providing developmental skills and creating inclusive communities.

You will be responsible for ensuring quality administrative structures and processes that drive organisational effectiveness in supporting student learning and development. Additionally, you will ensure the well-being of students is enhanced through strong student-related policies and processes.

We are looking for an experienced professional who can lead peers and teams, manage curriculum and instructional excellence, and drive improvements in teaching and learning approaches.

Critical Work Functions:

  • Lead Curriculum & Instructional Excellence
    • Develop Centre-wide curriculum and programmes based on evidence-based practices.
    • Refine processes to achieve effective development of individual learning objectives and outcomes.
    • Drive and evaluate teaching and learning approaches applied to lessons.
    • Implement appropriate health, safety, nutritional and hygiene standards and procedures.
    • Develop programme goals and targets related to maintaining and enhancing student well-being and development.
  • Lead Holistic Student Development
    • Manage the implementation of Centre-wide curricula and plan programme level goals and targets.
    • Lead improvements in teaching and intervention practices based on evidence-based research and inquiry findings.
    • Develop new classroom management strategies.
    • Guide reviews of children's learning progress, goals and family priorities.
  • Lead Collaboration with Families and Stakeholders Across Disciplines
    • Implement cross-sector programmes with industry leaders.
    • Review and develop or enhance programmes and initiatives at Centre-level, cross-Centre level and Centre-family-community level.
    • Lead the development of new partnerships to improve programmes and services.
    • Conduct workshops for sharing knowledge and resources.
  • Develop Self and Others for Greater Impact
    • Engage actively in self-reflective practice, supervision and other professional development activities.
    • Plan, support and provide feedback towards the professional development of staff.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and staff reflection.
    • Guide or lead in teams to implement organisational or unit wide initiatives.

Job Holder Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in a related field (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Human Services) from a recognised Tertiary Institution.
  • Eligible for Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) or equivalent.
  • At least 8 years experience teaching in an Early Intervention setting.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading peers and teams.
