Asia Medical Device Business Lawyer Opportunity

The Legal Counsel will provide proactive legal advice and support to the medical device business in Asia. Key objectives include providing expert guidance on regulatory compliance, contract management, and commercial agreements.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide proactive legal counsel on regulatory compliance and contracts.
  • Establish and maintain internal processes for managing contracts, templates, and SOPs.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts including distribution agreements and hospital collaborations.
  • Anticipate regulatory trends and prepare the company for emerging opportunities and challenges.
  • Participate in business strategy development and resolve operational issues cross-functionally.
  • Collaborate with external counsels on projects within budget and scope.
  • Support internal investigations and employee interviews as needed.
  • Implement corporate policies and procedures related to code of conduct, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and healthcare compliance.
  • Ensure ongoing activities meet industry norms and requirements for ethical interactions.
  • Develop risk-managed solutions to various legal issues and policies.
Requirements:
  • 8-12 years of experience working in law firms or in-house.
  • Law degree (LLB or equivalent) is required.
  • Essential experience in the Medical Device/Pharma industry.
  • Legal practicing certificate is desirable.
  • Fluent English language skills are required.
  • Strong legal drafting and compliance experience.
  • Experience working on international contracts and negotiations is essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen and risk management skills.
  • Good judgment and discretion with ability to escalate matters appropriately.
  • Ability to champion a culture of openness and transparency.
  • Presentation and training skills/experience.
