We are seeking an experienced and skilled Animal Care Specialist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a variety of animals, provide exceptional care, and contribute to the development of engaging and educational experiences for our guests.
About the RoleThis role involves providing daily animal care, including husbandry, housing, feeding, training, enrichment, and presentation of animals. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of positive welfare for the animals, as per our Animal Welfare Code. Additionally, you will need to identify and report any abnormalities, signs of possible health concerns, or behavioral issues in animals.
Responsibilities- Provide daily animal care, including husbandry, housing, feeding, training, enrichment, and presentation of animals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of animal care activities.
- Identify and report any abnormalities, signs of possible health concerns, or behavioral issues in animals.
- Conduct training sessions with assigned animals and behaviors within completion timelines.
- Participate in shows as presenter, handler, and/or backstage support.
- Minimum 'N' Level.
- At least 2 years of prior experience in animal care, veterinary medicine, training, or shows is preferred.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Effective and motivated team player.
- Able to present in front of crowds and work with animals.
