Associate, Non-Financial Risk Management

The Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) team, a section of the Risk Management Department Asia Pacific (RMD APAC) Office, is the Second Line of Defence (2LoD) function that is responsible for the over-sight of all non-financial risks for Mizuho Bank (MHBK) in the APAC region.

Job Responsibilities
1. Assist in the establishment and enhancement of the region-wide APAC NFRM Framework for the
identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting of all NFRs across MHBK's jurisdictions in the APAC
region.
2. Support the CSA Results Review process where the CSA results and associated action plan(s) by are
evaluated for effectiveness and monitored to completion.
3. Be part of efforts to establish & monitor region-wide APAC NFR KRIs.
4. Assist in the production of the quarterly APAC Risk Management Committee (RMC) papers, focusing on
the NFRM agenda.
5. Produce, distribute & improve the operational risk events monitoring process, highlighting significant
operational incidents and/or losses to RMD APAC Management.
6. Participate in the future development of APAC risk management governance & methods for
new/emerging non-financial risk domains.
7. Combine or aggregate data sets from multiple sources, prepare region-wide summaries and coordinate
with 2LoD subject matter experts (SMEs) for commentaries on risk management results.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration, Banking/Finance, Accountancy, Economics or related
discipline.
2. At least 2-4 years of Risk Management, Compliance or Audit experience within the Banking/Finance or
Accounting industry, with a good understanding of Operational, Compliance and/or other non-financial
risks.
3. Data analytics & aggregation - experience working with MS Access & Macro-enabled worksheets. Able
to aggregate data sets to validate risk assessments to provide a succinct opinion on non-financial risks.
4. Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing non-financial risk management across various APAC
jurisdictions (including but not Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, China and India).
5. Able to think critically, possess a can-do attitude and innovate solutions to improve existing processes &
frameworks.
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at similar
levels of the organization and contribute to the team's success.
