The Team:

The team is comprised of over 15 analysts that operates in a team-oriented, friendly atmosphere led by the Analytical Manager - Financial Services and Government Ratings based in Singapore. The team is seeking an experienced primary analyst or a Senior Analyst to undertake credit analysis on insurance companies for Greater China, South and South-East Asia. You'll be required to perform analytical work, write reports, and demonstrate your analytical insight to internal and external audiences. The role can be either based in Singapore or Hong Kong and is well supported by the wider Insurance team in APAC.

The Insurance Ratings team covers some of the largest and the most influential insurance companies in Asia. Your credit analysis could influence the asset allocation decision of investors. Y ou will be representing a globally recognised rating agency by providing your industry research and thought leaderships analysis which can influence investor sentiment and market behaviour.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present credit analysis and recommendations to credit committees.
  • Publish timely credit reports and research pieces in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuously monitor operating performance of rated companies, review of public filings and private information supplied by issuers, participate in client meetings
  • Contribute to global & regional analytical projects and working groups.
  • Articulate your research and analysis in a logical and coherent manner.
  • Deliver best in class service and demonstrate professionalism to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key market participants (e.g. issuers, intermediaries, investors, regulators).
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree. Actuarial background, advanced degree, or CFA charter holder a plus.
  • A S&P employee at this level typically has 5 years of analytical or research experience.
  • Relevant insurance sector experience in equity/credit/risk analysis is a plus.
  • Strong insurance accounting knowledge.
  • Fluent English and Putonghua language skills.
  • Flexibility to travel, primarily within Greater China and South & South East Asia
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skill
  • Highly motivated team player with a curious mind, proactive personality, and demonstrated drive.
