[What you will be working on]

  • Oversee accessibility and inclusivity initiatives at NMS. This includes co-ordinating across departments to ensure that our exhibitions, programmes and spaces are accessible and inclusive for all visitors.

  • Oversee programme design, project management, resource/content development, documentation, advocacy efforts and procuring relevant services for the museum's accessible and inclusive programmes/initiatives for the various exhibitions and key museum events.

  • Cultivate, develop, and maintain partnerships with key agencies, organisations, and volunteers in support of NMS' museum-based programmes/initiatives for access groups, in particular, for seniors.

  • Oversee all plans, partnerships and research for the Reunion Senior social space and associated programmes for seniors that will enhance seniors' health and social wellbeing.

  • Manage and front internal and external communications on accessible programmes and policies, including addressing stakeholders' concerns and potential media opportunities.

  • Other ad-hoc initiatives and projects as assigned.

[What we are looking for]

  • Background in History, Social Science, Arts Management, Education, Museum Studies, or a related qualification.

  • Preferably minimum8 - 10 years of experience in the museum, arts, and heritage sector or equivalent, including designing audience-centred content, educational and/or public programmes, in particular, for access groups such as seniors and/or people with disabilities/special needs.

  • Preferably at least 2 years' experience as a Reporting Officer with demonstrated ability to lead a small team.

  • Possess work experience in accessibility related portfolios, which may include experience in programming for target access groups such as seniors and/or people with disabilities/special needs.

  • Strong interest in programming for seniors and/or accessibility related work to further the museum's efforts in inclusivity.

  • Possess excellent partnership development and stakeholder management skills.

  • Possess excellent presentation and project management skills.

  • Effective time management and organisational skills, and the ability to exercise initiative.

  • Must be able to work weekends as necessary when there are planned programmes for seniors.

  • Proactive, resourceful, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Independent and able to multi-task, while being a team player.

  • Good command of English (both spoken and written)

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential

  • Candidate who is bilingual in English and Mandarin is an added advantage

  • Prior experience with government procurement and finance procedures is an added advantage.
