Roles & Responsibilities

Organization Overview:

Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been providing specialized early intervention services since 2010. We support children aged 2–6 years, of all races and religions, who are diagnosed or suspected of having mild to moderate autism spectrum disorder (ASD), global developmental delay, and/or intellectual disabilities. Referrals come through SG Enable and hospitals, with enrolment based on a screening process. Our aim is to help each child reach their developmental potential through structured intervention and inclusive support.

As Head of Curriculum, you will lead and oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of our early intervention curriculum. You will guide and support teachers to ensure effective delivery aligned with the ECHO framework, and contribute to a holistic learning environment for children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Programme Leadership
  • Supervise and support teachers in planning and executing the curriculum
  • Ensure curriculum implementation aligns with ECHO framework and individual education goals
  • Lead curriculum reviews and enhancements in collaboration with senior staff and management
  • Monitor teaching quality and provide regular feedback and mentoring
  • Participate in ECHO GCO meetings with parents and teams to review child progress
  • Step in to support or cover teaching duties when needed
Centre & Administrative Oversight
  • Oversee class scheduling and staff coverage
  • Manage new student placements and class assignments
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation, including IEPs, progress reports, and lesson plans
  • Assist with reporting, teacher appraisals, and staff development
  • Organise enrichment activities, outings, and learning experiences
Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Ensure programme standards meet NCSS, MSF, SSR, PES, QA, and PDPA requirements
  • Maintain ISO standards in line with Metta Welfare Association's protocols
  • Lead orientation sessions for newly enrolled children and families
  • Foster strong communication and relationships with parents and caregivers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Centre Manager or management
Job Requirements
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) or equivalent
  • Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood for Children with Special Needs (SDESN) preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in an early intervention setting
  • Familiarity with the ECHO framework is an advantage
  • Passionate about inclusive education and early intervention
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Proficient in English; Mandarin or other dialects is an added advantage
