The College of Computing and Data Science(CCDS), formerly known as the School of Computer Science andEngineering, is NTU Singapore's newest academic college. PositionOverview

We are seeking two global leaders inArtificial Intelligence for the following two endowed chairprofessors.
  • Tan Lip-Bu Professorshipin Artificial Intelligence
  • Yidan Professorshipin ArtificialIntelligence
The chosencandidates will offer vision, leadership, oversight, and astrategic roadmap to drive transformative changes in AI. They willalso engage faculty across various colleges, aiming to securecompetitive interdisciplinary research funding from both public andprivate sectors. Their overarching objective is to position NTU asa global hub of excellence in AI research andeducation.

We are seeking individuals with adistinguished international reputation and a proven track record ofleadership in AI research and education. Ideal candidates shoulddemonstrate deep expertise in AI, alongside a strong ability toinspire and lead interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities includeconducting groundbreaking research in areas such as AI for Science,AI for Healthcare, AI for Resilience, AI for Education, GenerativeAI, and AI Safety.

KeyResponsibilities

The selected candidates areexpected to take on leadership roles, driving the development ofnew capabilities, fostering innovation, and collaborating withfellow faculty members. In addition to developing researchprogrammes, they will also contribute to teaching undergraduate andgraduate courses in their areas of specialization. Keyresponsibilities include:
  • Establish aworld-class research programme.
  • Develop arobust research agenda and maintain a strong publicationrecord.
  • Establish partnerships with local andinternational researchers and practitioners to explore avenues forresearch and teaching that will create an impact in the disciplineand/or educational practice.
  • Enhance theCollege's visibility as an international leader in AI research andeducation.
  • Secure research funding fromcompetitive grants and industrypartnerships.
  • Deliver engaging and effectiveteaching to both undergraduate and graduatestudents.
  • Mentor and supervise undergraduateand graduate students as well as researchstaff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teamswithin the University and with externalpartners.
  • Undertake essential administrativeresponsibilities within the College and theUniversity.
Requirements
Candidateswith the following qualifications are encouraged toapply:
  • A relevant Ph.D. from areputable University
  • Excellent track record inpublishing high-impact papers in top journals andconferences
  • Successful track records and ofacademic and research leadership in ArtificialIntelligence
  • Strong network and ties withrenowned international entities andorganizations
  • Internationally acclaimed withpresentations such as plenary and / or keynote addresses atflagship conferences and prestigious journalpublications.
  • Excellent communication andinterpersonalskills.
