The School of Civil andEnvironmental Engineering (CEE), which is part of the College ofEngineering, aspires to be a leading school for Sustainable UrbanSystems. Currently, it has over 50 faculty members and more than1,500 students, and is rapidly expanding its range of educationaland research activities. Its faculty has led major university-widestrategic research thrusts in space creation, water research,sustainable built environment, and maritime energy and sustainabledevelopment. Going forward, CEE is addressing critical problems inurban systems such as building structures and energy systems,sustainability of urban cities, and resiliency to natural andunnatural risks as well as emerging challenges in maritime andshipping.

CEE plays an integral role inspearheading tertiary education, advancing research innovations andproviding professional services in a number of key disciplines inthe local and global maritime industry. CEE holds a number ofoutstanding faculty and research staff in maritime studies who arereputable researchers in green shipping management andoptimization, big data in shipping and port, sustainable shippingmanagement, maritime strategy and supply chain management. CEE isalso hosting the Maritime Energy & Sustainable DevelopmentCentre of Excellence (MESD CoE), which is the first maritimeresearch centre supported by Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI)with the mission to deepen Singapore's maritime R&D capabilityand Singapore's position as a global maritime knowledge andinnovation hub.

To fuel further development, weinvite applications for a tenured (Endowed Professor) facultyposition in the following areas of MaritimeManagement.

We are seeking a candidatewith an established international reputation in the research andeducation of the field of Maritime and Supply Chain Management. Thecandidate should demonstrate a strong inclination towards thedomain of Maritime Management and Shipping and is expected to be anauthority in at least one area within the domain. Thosespecialising in the areas of supply chain resilience,decarbonisation, and digitalisation are preferred. The candidate isalso expected to work independently and jointly with other facultymembers to attract funding in the relevant areas of research. Thisincludes academic or societal impacts such as publication andcitation metrics, track record of service to public, industry andacademic communities, awards of research grants, impact on industryor international standing (e.g., delivery of keynote addresses inprestigiousconferences).

Requirements

Candidateswith the following qualifications are encouraged toapply:
  • A relevant PhD from a reputableuniversity
  • Extensive research and teachingexperience in Maritime and Supply ChainManagement
  • Successful track record ofacademic/research leadership and teambuilding
  • Experience in cross-disciplinaryresearch initiatives andcollaboration
  • Well-developed understanding ofthe priorities, operation and strategies of relevant fundingbodies
  • Strong network and ties with renownedinternational entities andorganisations
  • Internationally acclaimed withpresentations such as plenary and/or keynote addresses at flagshipconferences and prestigious journalpublications.
