Established in 1981, the School of EEEis one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang TechnologicalUniversity. Built on a culture of excellence, the School isrenowned for its high academic standards and research backed by 120faculty members and 300 researchers from all over the world. Todate, NTU EEE has an enrolment of 4,000 students of which about1,000 are graduate students. In order to support advanced research,the School hosts 13 research centres and facilities which arewell-equipped with sophisticated and state-of-the-art equipment.Besides the 13 centres, there are more than 50 laboratories,supporting both the teaching and research activities in theSchool.

We are seeking acandidate who will develop, lead and sustain research of aninternational standard as a technological leader in power systemsengineering, and have an excellent record of distinguished academicand scholarly achievements along with a demonstrated commitment tothe core traditions of excellence and innovation. As a tenured fullProfessor / Associate Professor, he/she is also expected to provideacademic leadership and excellence in the area of power systemsengineering for NTU's School of EEE.
Theselected candidate will be on an endowed professorship and isexpected to work closely with NTU's industry partners in developingcapability aligned with the technology needs of the companies inthe area of powerengineering.
Requirements:
Successfulcandidates must have:

• A relevant PhD from areputable university

• Evidence of a developinginternational reputation in power engineering, for examplefellowships, awards, invited presentations at internationalconferences, journal editorships, etc.

• Established trackrecord of academic publications of international quality

•Proven track record of securing funding as Co-I or leadinvestigator

• Extensive research and teaching experiencein power engineering

• Successful track record ofacademic/research leadership and team building

•Experience in cross-disciplinary research initiatives andcollaboration

• Well-developed understanding of thepriorities and strategies of relevant funding bodies

•Successful training and development of early career researchersand/or PhD students

• Strong network and ties withrenowned international entities andorganisations
Responsibilities:

•Develop and lead an innovative research programme of internationalquality

• Publish high quality papers in reputablepeer-reviewed journals

• Secure competitive researchgrants

• Give talks at international conferences, andsupervise research personnel

• Contribute to teaching andcourse development at the undergraduate and postgraduatelevels

• Supervise undergraduate and graduate studentsundertaking research projects

• Undertake administrativeand/or leadership roles

• Contribute to otherservice-related activities assigned by the School, College andUniversity.
