Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Data Scientist Intern with an interest in data analytics, insight generation, and optimization for manufacturing data. In this role, you will work alongside experienced data scientists to analyze manufacturing datasets involving time-series sensor data, develop statistical models, and explore AI/ML and digital twin technologies (ML-based or discrete event simulation). You will also gain exposure to optimization techniques for improving operational efficiency and process performance. This internship is a great opportunity to apply your analytical skills in a real-world manufacturing environment while learning from industry experts.

Your Role and Impact

This role will focus on analyzing complex manufacturing datasets, developing predictive and prescriptive models, and implementing solutions that optimize resource utilization, minimize downtime, and enhance production performance.

What You'll Do

1. Support the team in analyzing manufacturing data, identifying trends, and creating visualizations.

2. Gain exposure to machine learning models, digital twin technologies, and their applications in manufacturing.

3. Explore optimization techniques and solvers.

4. Work alongside data scientists to develop and test solutions.

What We're Looking For

* Educational Background:

- Minimum Poly, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations

Research, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

* Technical Expertise:

- Familiarity with Python and basic programming concepts.

- Understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning (experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn is a plus).

- Basic data visualization skills using tools like Plotly, Seaborn.

- Experience with sensors and signal processing is a plus.

- Interest in optimization techniques (exposure to linear programming, mixed-integer programming, or heuristics/metaheuristics is a plus).

- Awareness of software engineering best practices such as version control, modularity, and testing.

* Soft Skills:

- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate insights effectively.

- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

- Self-motivated learner who quickly adapts to new tools and technologies.

* Others:

- Only Singaporean/PR can apply due to grant criteria.

- Internship duration should be more than 3 months.
