Roles & Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

  • Creating a wine & beverage list with the head sommelier of the restaurant.
  • Advising the owner to allocate the budget for beverage glasses and beverage inventory .
  • Meeting and greeting customers, organising table reservations.
  • Training and development of all staff about the beverage programme in the restaurant.
  • Responding to customer queries and complaints.
  • Ensure each customer receives impeccable service.
  • Taking customers food orders.
  • Delegating tasks and checking their execution.
  • Undertake monthly stock takes and overseeing and ordering of stock.
  • Recommend and develop a beverage programme together with the Head Sommelier .

THE POSITION REQUIRES

  • Relevant work experience in a fine dining establishment.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Adequate beverage knowledge.
  • Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills .
  • Good presentation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work and thrive within a diverse environment.
  • Self motivated and energetic.
  • Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team across divisions.
