Avaloq Developer

Roles & Responsibilities

Deegit Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Avaloq Developer to join our technology team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, customization, and maintenance of solutions built on the Avaloq Banking Suite. This role is critical in supporting business transformation initiatives, core banking enhancements, and integration efforts with various upstream and downstream systems.

Development and Customization

• Design,develop, test, and implement customized functionalities within the Avaloq Core Banking Platform using Avaloq Script (APL) and parameterization techniques
• Extend Avaloq functionalities to support new business requirements across modules such as client onboarding, payments, securities, lending, core accounts, and reporting
• Ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of Avaloq-based solutions

Requirement Analysis and Solution Design

• Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, and product owners to gather and analyze business requirements
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and implementation plans
• Participate in technical and design discussions to propose robust and scalable solutions

Integration and Interfaces

• Develop and maintain integrations between Avaloq and other enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, payment gateways, compliance tools)
• Work with APIs, web services (REST/SOAP), and messaging protocols for seamless data exchange

Testing and Deployment

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Manage deployment processes including change set creation, transport, and release planning
• Support continuous integration and delivery pipelines where applicable

Maintenance and Support

• Provide Level 2/3 support for Avaloq applications, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root cause analysis
• Monitor system performance and suggest enhancements or improvements
• Ensure timely resolution of incidents and change requests

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developments, interfaces, and configurations
• Ensure solutions adhere to internal standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., MAS guidelines)
• Participate in internal and external audits as required

Key Requirements

Technical Skills

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on development experience with the Avaloq Core Banking System
• Strong proficiency in:
  • Avaloq Scripting Language (APL)
  • Avaloq Parameterization
  • PL/SQL (Oracle databases)
  • UNIX/Linux shell scripting
• Familiarity with integration technologies such as:
  • REST/SOAP APIs
  • XML/JSON
  • Message queues (e.g., JMS, Kafka)
• Working knowledge of Java or other object-oriented languages is a plus

Domain Expertise

• Solid understanding of banking products and processes in one or more areas:
  • Private Banking
  • Wealth Management
  • Retail or Corporate Banking
  • Payments and Securities Processing
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance (e.g., KYC, AML, MAS guidelines)

Development Practices

• Experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile/Scrum preferred)
• Exposure to DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Git, Jenkins, JIRA, CI/CD pipelines)
• Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Strong communication skills – able to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or in cross-functional teams
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Avaloq Certified Professional or similar credentials
• Experience working in a managed services or consulting environment
• Prior involvement in Avaloq upgrade or migration projects
• Familiarity with data security, encryption, and privacy best practices
