APAC Data Center Recruitment Expert | Connecting the best talents to leading organisations

The Legal Counsel (Data Center) will provide expert legal guidance on matters related to data center operations, including contracts, compliance, data privacy, real estate, construction, and regulatory issues. This role ensures that the company's data center activities align with legal requirements while supporting business growth and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Negotiation & Drafting:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to data center operations, including:
  • Colocation agreements
  • Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Vendor and procurement contracts
  • Construction and lease agreements
  • Cloud and IT infrastructure contracts
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Advise on compliance with data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Monitor evolving regulations affecting data centers (e.g., energy, cybersecurity, and local zoning laws).
  • Support permitting and environmental compliance for data center construction/expansion.

Risk Management & Dispute Resolution:

  • Identify legal risks in data center operations and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Manage litigation, disputes, and investigations involving data centers.
  • Work with internal teams (IT, Security, Operations) on incident response.
  • Assist in acquisitions, joint ventures, and real estate deals for data center expansion.
  • Conduct due diligence for new data center projects.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with executives, finance, and operations teams on legal strategy.
  • Train internal teams on legal best practices for data center operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree; admission to the state bar.
  • 7+ years of legal experience, preferably with a focus on data centers, technology, real estate, or infrastructure.
