Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated and curious Data Engineering Intern to join our growing data team. This role is an exciting opportunity for students or early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and infrastructure that support real-world analytics and data-driven decision-making.

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers, analysts, and product teams to support data projects from ingestion to visualization. You will gain exposure to industry-grade tools and technologies in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and store both structured and unstructured data.
  • Learn to work with SQL, Python, to support data ingestion, transformation, and cleaning.
  • Support database tasks such as schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning across relational and NoSQL systems.
  • Help implement and test ETL workflows to integrate data from APIs, logs, and third-party sources.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand business data needs and assist in preparing datasets for analytics and reporting.
  • Support the monitoring and debugging of existing pipelines, learning to diagnose and resolve common issues.
  • Document workflows, tools used, and data handling best practices to contribute to internal knowledge-sharing.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering

Job Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of data processing concepts such as ETL, databases, and APIs (school projects or self-learning counts).
  • Some experience or familiarity with SQL, Python, or Java.
  • Interest in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka,Flink) frameworks.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and eagerness to learn.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Availability for a full-time internship for at least 3-6 months is preferred.
  • Curiosity about working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
