Roles & Responsibilities

The Opportunity:
  • Adecco is partnering with a public sector agency to search for a Data Engineer.
  • The role focuses on developing optimized data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and ensuring data quality, security, and performance across security data platforms.
  • Role will start off as a 18-months contract assignment.
The Job:
Data Architecture & Infrastructure
  • Design and optimize data models in BigQuery for security analytics and threat detection.
  • Build and maintain an enterprise data warehouse with strong security and performance standards.
ETL/ELT Pipeline Development
  • Develop automated data pipelines integrating sources like SIEM, SOAR, and threat intelligence feeds.
  • Focus on real-time data processing that is efficient and reliable.
Data Quality & Governance
  • Implement data quality monitoring frameworks.
  • Enforce data access controls and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Support data governance practices across the platform.
Analytics & Collaboration
  • Build and optimize datasets used in Looker dashboards for multiple security domains.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers and data analysts to support advanced threat detection initiatives (e.g., Agentic SOC).
  • Ensure efficient query performance and cost optimization in BigQuery.
Documentation & Teamwork
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for data flows, schemas, and processes.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support threat hunting use cases.
The Talent:
  • Possesses 3–5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering.
  • Proven track record with cloud-based data warehouse platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially BigQuery.
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT development, data modeling, and warehouse design.
  • Familiarity with data governance, security protocols, and transformation tools like dbt.
