Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Storage Administration & Optimization
  • Design, configure, implement, and support enterprise SAN/NAS solutions across multi-vendor platforms (Hitachi VSP series, HPE XP8/XP7/Primera, Dell EMC Isilon, NetApp, Pure Storage, VMAX, VPLEX, VNX).
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex storage issues in production and DR environments.
  • Lead firmware/microcode upgrades, tech refresh projects, and large-scale storage migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Implement and manage replication, snapshots, and business continuity solutions for high-availability environments.
  • Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring using enterprise storage management tools.
SAN Fabric & Connectivity
  • Architect, configure, and administer Brocade SAN fabrics, including advanced zoning, fabric merging, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure optimal SAN connectivity and fabric health across data centers in multi-site environments.
Incident, Problem & Change Management
  • Lead resolution of high-severity incidents (Sev 1/Sev 2) and coordinate with vendors for escalations.
  • Conduct detailed post-incident reviews and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Manage changes in line with ITIL processes, ensuring risk assessment, documentation, and rollback planning.
Compliance, Documentation & Governance
  • Maintain accurate storage asset inventory, configuration baselines, and topology diagrams.
  • Ensure adherence to FSI regulatory requirements, security policies, and audit compliance.
  • Participate in and support internal/external audits, addressing findings with remediation plans.
Leadership, Mentoring & Collaboration
  • Serve as SME for storage-related technologies, providing guidance to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and operations teams to design and implement storage solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to enhance service efficiency and reduce operational overhead.
Requirements
Technical Skills
  • Experience: 12+ years in enterprise storage administration, including SAN/NAS, replication, and disaster recovery.
  • Platforms: Hitachi VSP series (VSP5500, VSP G1000, USP-V), HPE XP8/XP7/Primera, Dell EMC Isilon, NetApp, VMAX, VPLEX, Pure Storage.
  • SAN Fabric: Brocade SAN switch administration up to Director-class, zoning (hard/soft/LSAN), firmware upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • OS & Virtualization: Good knowledge of Windows, Linux, VMware environments; Unix OS administration; Veritas Volume Manager.
  • Other: Storage migration tools, replication technologies (HUR, TrueCopy, SRDF), backup solutions (NetBackup).
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex storage environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor technical teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in regulated industries.
Other Requirements
  • Willingness to work on-call or provide support during critical maintenance windows.
  • Banking/FSI experience preferred.
