OVERVIEW

Overall supervision of the School East and School West junior finance team to ensure that accounts

are closed timely on a monthly basis as well as year-end closing. To assist in the development, performance and maintenance of the financial activities of the organization.

Main duties and responsibilities:


•Supervision of junior staff, train and appraise them


•Daily/ weekly checking of POs, AR, staff claims and Giro payment


•Monthly audit schedule and Balance Sheet reconciliation


•Monthly payroll checking, preparation of FAID for School's clients


•Preparation and submission of quarterly and yearly statistical reports to Government for School


•Provide timely, accurate and relevant recording, reporting and analysis of financial information


•Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance on monthly and yearly basis


•Update of yearly budget in the accounting system


•Liaise with auditors pertaining to accounting matters


•Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards


•To manage the Xero accounting system, the ApprovalMax PO system for School East and School West


•Liaise with the vendor on trouble shooting of both system issues


•Work under the supervision of the Head of Department, Finance


•Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner


•Ad-hoc matters relating to accounts

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Min 5 years of Accounting/ Finance experience and 2 years in supervisory role
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and experience in accounting software such as Xero and ApprovalMax
  • Independent, highly organized and motivated
  • Proactive, resourceful with eye for details and accuracy
  • Meticulous, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good team player with positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across organisation
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliation
