Roles & Responsibilities

The Captain is a full-time position that combines operational responsibilities with leadership and team management. In addition to actively participating in the preparation of acai bowls and smoothies, the Captain takes on a leadership role, providing guidance and support to the team members. They serve as a point of contact in the absence of the manager, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare acai bowls and smoothies according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Lead and motivate the team, setting a positive example and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Assist in training new team members on proper preparation techniques, customer service, and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate and delegate tasks to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the manager for restocking needs.
  • Handle cash register operations, including opening and closing procedures, and maintain accurate cash handling practices.
  • Address customer inquiries, resolve concerns, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating shift rotations, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Collaborate with the manager in implementing and reinforcing operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a foodservice or similar role, with a strong understanding of acai bowl and smoothie preparation.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Basic math skills and cash handling experience.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive dining experience.

Note: The Captain plays a vital role in leading the team, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. This position requires a combination of hands-on work in preparing acai bowls and smoothies and providing guidance to the team. The Captain contributes to the overall success of the establishment by upholding quality standards, promoting teamwork, and fostering a positive work environment.
