Roles & Responsibilities

The Volunteer Manager is responsible for developing and managing the organisation's volunteer framework and processes, ensuring effective recruitment, training, placement, recognition, development, and retention of volunteers. This role will work closely with internal teams and external partners to create meaningful volunteer opportunities that align with the organisation's mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:1. Volunteer Strategy & Planning:

· Develop the volunteer strategy and comprehensive volunteer management plan in line with the organisation's overall strategic plan.

· Identify emerging approaches in volunteer management and evaluate volunteerism trends and impact to enhance engagement strategies.

· Plan and implement volunteer recruitment, orientation, deployment, development, appreciation, and retention strategies.

2. Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement:

· Perform relationship management role with volunteers, fostering strong engagement and commitment.

· Screen and interview potential volunteers, matching their skills and interests with suitable roles and opportunities.

· Work closely with the services team to curate and design relevant and impactful volunteer roles and opportunities for both corporate and individual volunteers.

· Provide training and orientation to volunteers to ensure they are well-equipped for their roles.

3. Supervision:

· Supervise and support volunteers in their roles, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

· Measure and evaluate volunteers' performance and impact, implementing corrective actions to improve outcomes.

· Track volunteer hours and contributions, maintaining accurate records and databases.

4. Volunteer Recognition & Retention:

· Develop and execute strategies for volunteer appreciation and recognition.

· Implement retention initiatives to maintain volunteer engagement and commitment.

Technical Competencies

  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire volunteers
  • Excellent organisational, stakeholder management and project management skills
  • Good written, communication and presentation skills
  • Data management and analytical skills is an advantage
  • People-oriented and have a passion for volunteerism and community service

Preferred achievements

· Bachelor's degree, in social science or any related fields

· Minimum 3 years of working experience in areas related to project, stakeholder or volunteer management

· Prior working experience in a social service agency or CSR role in a corporate is an advantage
