Job Summary

The Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Jewish Community Centre, its staff, visitors, and assets. This role involves proactive patrolling, access control, emergency response, and strict adherence to security protocols, as well as assisting the Head of Security Team to manage the team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, physical fitness, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.

Full time - 5.5 days 44 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver professional, efficient, and approachable security services, including access control and visitor/supplier management per Community Centre SOPs.
  2. Maintain a high-security standard at a sensitive site through vigilant internal/external patrols (day/night), documenting observations in the Daily Occurrence Book.
  3. Respond promptly to emergencies (e.g., evacuations, alarms) and provide first aid as needed.
  4. Conduct security drills, test fire alarms/equipment, and report malfunctions to the Security Advisor.
  5. Monitor CCTV systems effectively and sensitively, ensuring compliance with privacy standards.
  6. Perform bag, property, and vehicle screenings as required.
  7. Address suspicious packages/individuals safely and per established protocols.
  8. Report incidents, maintenance issues, or security breaches promptly.
  9. Support Community Centre events and high-demand periods (e.g., holidays).
  10. Assist Head of Security Team to manage the team and train new team members and uphold strict confidentiality of all site-related information.
  11. Comply with Fire, Health & Safety, and Security policies at all times.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

1. Physical Fitness & Testing:

– Excellent health and physical fitness.

– Pass quarterly physical tests (all must be completed consecutively): 3000 meters in ≤14 minutes; 400 meters in ≤75 seconds; Minimum 8 pull-ups, 10 parallel bars, 50 double sit-ups.

2. Certifications & Skills:

– Valid Security Officer license

- First Aid Certification

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general IT literacy.

3. Additional Qualities:

– Strong situational judgment and conflict resolution skills.

– Ability to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends.

– Knowledge of security systems (CCTV, alarms) is preferred.

– Valid security license (if required by local regulations).

4. Language:

- English fluency

- Speaking Hebrew will be an advantage
