Roles & Responsibilities

Role:

  • Create project work plans, define work procedures, manage budgets and schedules.
  • Oversee project management for Green Tech projects, including BWMS turn-key projects, marine scrubber turn-key projects, land-based tenders, and other projects.
  • Manage and continuously improve Green Tech processes.
  • Lead, take ownership, and foster a responsible team environment for discussions on technical solutions, building credibility with clients.
  • Assist in developing SOPs and technical proposals for various projects acquired by the Sales team, such as Trim Optimization, Bulbous Bow Cut Line, Reverse Engineering, BIM, Forensics Investigation, Construction Disputes, Volumetric Calculations, Heritage Preservations, Artifacts Archives, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in 3D Laser Scanning, Point Cloud Processing, 3D Modeling, and Piping Construction Standards.
  • Supervise and guide the project management of department projects in collaboration with Project and Service Engineers.
  • Identify and anticipate technical and practical issues in projects, and communicate them to relevant parties.
  • Assist in the financial management and technical quality of retrofit projects in the maritime industry, ranging from ballast water treatment installations to large scrubber installations.
  • Report progress, budget, and cost implications.
  • Gather information for the engineering process and provide guidance to the engineering team.
  • Communicate with suppliers to agree on pricing, monitor quality, and delivery times.
  • Prepare and assemble engineering packages, and write instructions and guidance for installation engineers.
  • Organize onboard installations, including shipping materials and arranging travel for personnel.
  • Plan and discuss project timelines with ship owners and managers.
  • Manage the financial aspects of projects, prepare invoices, administrate extra work with ship owners and managers, and monitor hourly budgets.
  • Handle all macro and micro aspects of project management, with a hands-on approach as needed.
  • Ensure designs comply with Ballast Water Management Plan D2 and various class requirements.
  • Work independently while coordinating and collaborating with the team.
  • Liaise with ballast water treatment system and scrubber manufacturers for technical clarifications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Business Manager and Green Tech Manager.
  • Prioritize safety and health for yourself and coworkers, adhering to the company’s environmental, health, and safety policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering.
  • Preferably PMP trained.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Projects.
  • Experience with 3D Point Cloud Software.
  • Strong product and market knowledge.
  • Possess a personal car or a class 3 driving license.
  • Ability to troubleshoot product malfunctions.
  • Willingness to travel overseas when required.
  • Ability to manage and maintain project timelines with contractors and suppliers.
  • Good team player with a positive attitude, integrity, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills with ship’s Captain, Chief Engineer, or crew members onboard.
  • Practice good safety habits and risk management while working on ships.
