Position Summary


The Global Business Development Manager in the Renewable Energy industry drives global growth, expands market presence in the new energy sector, and fosters relationships with international government authorities. This impactful, versatile role requires identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and leading initiatives aligned with sustainable energy solutions. Accountable for overall ROI, the manager leads meetings with stakeholders and project teams to discuss project status, issues, and action plans. Key responsibilities include ensuring project viability, timely completion, and achieving expected business and environmental benefits.


Key Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis & Business Strategy Development
  1. Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, emerging markets, and competitive landscape in the renewable energy sector.
  2. Develop and implement business development strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the company's global footprint.
  3. Analyse and evaluate potential business opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  4. Identify and pursue new business leads and opportunities to increase revenue streams.
  5. Drive business growth by developing and implementing effective business strategies and campaigns.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling value propositions and promotional materials.
  • Partnerships & Relationship Management
  1. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, local communities, industry associations, and corporate partners.
  2. Negotiate and manage strategic partnerships, alliances, and collaborations to enhance the company’s market position.
  3. Act as a liaison between the company and international partners to ensure alignment of goals and successful execution of projects.
  4. Responsible for negotiating contracts with international partners, ensuring compliance with the project's commercial and legal terms, and ultimately finalizing and signing the agreements.
  • Project Management & Execution
  1. Conduct feasibility study and risk assessment of new renewable energy projects to ensure long-term project viability.
  2. Ensure a smooth implementation throughout project life-cycle which includes to oversee the planning, development, and execution of new renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  3. Coordinate multiple teams, collaborate with international partners, and handle all aspects of the project, from initial planning to final execution and delivery.
  4. Monitor project progress, address & mitigating any issues that arise, and ensure effective communication among all stakeholders.
  5. Implement best practices in project management to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  6. Ensure the smooth implementation of projects and the achievement of expected business and environmental benefits.
  • Team Collaboration & Development
  1. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignments and understanding of project KPIs, all while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  2. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure commitment to achieving project deliverables within stipulated timeline.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering Management, or in a related field; MBA or advanced degree will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience and success in business strategic planning and project management in the renewable energy sector within a global business setting.
  • Strong understanding of the global renewable energy market, including familiarity in regulatory environments, technological advancements, and renewable energy and environmental conservation industry trends.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in managing crossfunctional teams.
  • Mature professionals with outstanding negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic global set-up environment.
  • Billingual with proficiency in English.
  • Frequent global travelling is expected.
  • Singaporeans preferred.
