Learning Specialist / Programme Executive, Education Vertical
South Central Community Family Service Centre (SCC) provides support to the low-income and vulnerable families in our community. While giving support to families who seek help in financial, social or relationship issues, we encourage community self-help and cooperation. At SCC we believe:

The Learning Specialist/Programme Executive would play an instrumental role in enabling an environment and culture of learning and development by working alongside children, families and communities as an enabler and facilitator for children to thrive and maximise their potential.
Responsibilities:
Programme Planning
- Conduct strategic planning and curation of Education & Development initiatives in the areas of academic support, socio-emotional learning & development
- Develop family and/or community engagement programmes to empower not just the children, but also develop partnerships with families and communities
- Collaborate with volunteers, community, school and strategic partners to weave holistic programming
Programme Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation
- Execute and operationalise programmes through close workings with Education & Development team, community, partners and stakeholders in the areas of academic support, socio-emotional learning & development.
- Understanding the strengths, interests and needs of children within SCC universe and co-develop goals with children and families
- Coach children and families on their goals, based on their strengths, interests and requirements – execute & recommend interventions and/or referrals to relevant stakeholders through the Learning Compass
- Develop a repository of Education & Development related resources and form strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the ecosystem
- Collaborate with Community Engagement to outreach to families and communities for Education & Development initiatives
- Collaborate closely with Volunteer Management & Partnership in training education-related volunteers
- Work with SCC’s Research, Evaluation & Development team to develop and track the key metrics for the programme effectiveness of the various educational programs
This role may entail onsite work on 1-2 weekday evenings or weekend mornings. We practise flexibility in working hours to ensure team members have the time off and rest that they are entitled to.
Requirements:
- Passionate about the cause of transforming children’s life outcomes holistically, with a strength-based and community-centric outlook
- Those with educational qualifications and professional trainings related to education and/or child and youth development (e.g. Early Childhood/MOE educator (curriculum and pedagogist), Early Interventionist, Speech & Lang Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Educational Therapist) will be preferred
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with vulnerable children and families in the social or education sector
- Experienced and competent in organising, developing and conducting activities/workshops/trainings
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and respectfully engage and effectively enable families and educators on making positive behavioural changes
- Astute knowledge of child-related and parent-related resources in the Education & Development landscape in Singapore
- Able to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic and fluid work environment
- Self-motivated with a thirst for operational efficiency and programme effectiveness
- Project management savvy: Detail-oriented, with strong administrative skills and the ability to manage deadlines, and responsibilities, anticipate risks and plan for different scenarios
- People and community oriented – you'll thrive in this job if you genuinely enjoy working with partners, community, children and their parents
