We are now seeking a Treasury Associate to enhance its Treasury operations in Asia. This role focuses on managing cash and liquidity, part of a global team, and based in our dynamic Hong Kong or Singapore office. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting business growth initiatives and fostering relationships with key counterparts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor BAM’s liquidity to ensure the availability of cash and collateral across Prime Brokers (PBs), Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs), and bilateral counterparts in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with business COOs and Portfolio Managers to support growth across diverse financial products including Equities, Macro, and Commodities.
  • Serve as the regional point of contact for Portfolio Managers, addressing inquiries related to funding, margin and treasury operations.
  • Engage with funding and clearing counterparts to gain an in-depth understanding of the market structure and funding needs within the region.
  • Identify and implement strategies to minimize funding costs and reduce working capital usage.
  • Cultivate a strong network of relationships with industry counterparts to drive the firm’s growth and scalability.
  • Guarantee the accuracy of margin and funding data within the firm by coordinating with internal dev/data teams and/or external vendors.
  • Oversee the daily verification of margin call wires for accuracy and integrity.
  • Partner with internal teams to improve the reporting of key Treasury data to management.
  • Offer expert guidance on intricate margin rules to internal stakeholders and development teams.
  • Facilitate the identification of short-term investment opportunities in liquid assets to optimize returns on the firm’s liquidity reserves.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Treasury role, ideally within the buy-side.
  • Self-motivated individual with a track record of working independently and within a team setting.
  • Exceptional analytical and data examination skills, with proficiency in Excel and a strong preference for SQL and Python knowledge.
  • In-depth understanding of the funding markets for various asset classes in Asia,
  • Experience with FX funding (FX swaps) especially in markets with restricted currencies.
  • Experience with margin concepts and understanding of market rule-sets.
  • Knowledge of funding markets in China, India, and Korea will be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
