The Senior Assistant Director (Faculty Affairs) supports theAssociate Provost Faculty Affairs (APFA) and the Deputy AssociateProvost Faculty Affairs (DAPFA) in developing and reviewing facultydevelopment related policies, driving faculty development andengagement initiatives and managing day-to-day operations with theobjective to facilitate the professional development and engagementof faculty members of the University.

He/sheleads a team of MSOs to provide secretariat and operational supportto University level committees/ review meetings formed for theappointment, reappointment, promotion & tenure of Facultymembers.

KeyResponsibilities:

Faculty DevelopmentPolicies and Programmmes

Support the APFA andDAPFA in charting faculty development roadmap to facilitate theprofessional development of faculty. Plan, organise and implementvarious internal and external faculty development programmes suchas Mentorship and clinic sessions on faculty promotion and tenurepreparation. Supporting the APFA and DAPFA in the development andreview faculty development related policies and consult Office ofHuman Resources to ensure alignment and synergy with HR relatedpolicies. Communicate new or updated policies and processes tostakeholders and faculty and provide guidance on policy applicationto ensure successful implementation.

FacultyTalent Candidate Network

Assist the APFA andDAPFA in builidng a network and database on faculty talentcandidates whom Colleges/Schools/OHR could consider for current andfuture faculty recruitment needs.

SecretariatSupport Lead for Committees on Faculty Appointment, Reappointment,Promotion & tenure

Lead a team of MSOsworking together with OHR in delivering and managing Universitylevel committees formed for the appointment, reappointment,promotion & tenure of Faculty members. Spearhead relatedprocess improvements and standardisations and update operationalprocedures for University internal controls and policycompliance.

Faculty DataAnalytics

Prepare data analytics to facilitateplanning and decision making by the APFAOffice.

TeamManagement

Motivate and align the team inachieving the objectives of the University and APFA office. Setperformance targets, provide coaching and constructive performancefeedback and conductappraisal.

Requirements:
  • Abachelor's degree
  • 8 to 10 years of relevantworking experience
  • Demonstrated experience inleading and managing a team of directreports
  • Prior work experience in an instituteof higher learning will be an addedadvantage
  • Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills
  • Strong critical andanalytical thinking
  • Meticulous andorganized
  • Proactive with demonstrated dynamismand resourcefulness in problemsolving
