Job Purpose

The Asia Comms and Marketing Teams manage BBC Studios leading international and multi-format brands as well as a portfolio of branded services across Asia, including BBC News, BBC Earth, BBC Lifestyle, BBC First, CBeebies and BBC Player.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Accountabilities

Supports delivery of marketing and comms campaigns including:

  • Assisting with the planning and creation of communications and marketing material. This includes gathering information, sourcing and delivering creative assets and press material.
  • Assisting with the development and execution of B2B and B2C events.
  • Undertake media monitoring and organizing media clippings and reports
  • Support the running of social media channels and assist with the production of assets for these.
  • Source premiums in line with BBC Studio’s ethical policies.
  • Building EDMs and management of mailing lists for monthly programme updates for partners, affiliates and media across the region.
  • Managing affiliates’ queries with regards to assets requests.
  • Building powerpoint presentations.
  • Manage cost centre and budget tracking.
  • Provide additional administrative assistance and project support to stakeholders and colleagues across Marketing and comms.


Scope & Impact

The Marcomms team assistant will work closely with the marketing and comms teams in Singapore and across the region to deliver campaigns on time and to budget.


Strategic Planning & Decision Making

The Marcomms team assistant will be encouraged to work proactively with the wider team within the parameters of their role.


Relationships

Internal departments, external agencies, suppliers, affiliates and partners – both Asia and Overseas.


Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

BBC Studios is an exciting business currently in growth phase. Timelines are often very flexible and market demands change quickly. The Marcomms team assistant must therefore be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment and must be adaptable, work well under pressure and be receptive to change in the workplace.


The ideal person for this role is someone with good planning, time management and organisational skills. They should also be meticulous with a good eye for detail while still be highly efficient. Clear communication, information gathering and problem-solving skills will also play a key part in this role.


They should have a positive outlook, work well as part of a team as well as being able to work independently. Taking ownership of tasks and strong initiative to learn will also be key. They should be able to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external, and maintain affiliates’ relationships.

  • Comply with all relevant BBC safety rules, procedures and guidelines, and be aware of responsibilities under the BBC safety policy.
  • Comply with the BBC’s policies on diversity and apply the principles of the policy when carrying out the role.

Education

  • Proficient Microsoft office skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken command of the English language is essential.
  • Comms or Marketing qualification desired but not required.
