Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

1. Perform and support for business development in Southeast Asia & Oceania

2. Business Planning and support as Region Headquarter in business development in Southeast Asia & Oceania

Job Duties:

1. Perform and support for investment in business development

  • Sourcing non-shipping investment opportunities which meet Group's mid to long-term strategy and regional strategy in Southeast Asia & Oceania.
  • Visit the site of investment opportunities including overseas and prepare internal report.
  • Analise the investment return from both aspects of financial return and strategic return.
  • Assess the risk, including but not limited to, financial risk, market risk, legal risk, credit risk, and operation risk.
  • Negotiate with related parties about the terms & conditions of sales, investment, joint venture, and service contracts.
  • Propose investment opportunities to the management, and coordinate with relevant corporate divisions in Singapore and in headquarter in Japan in order to obtain internal approval in investment committee timely & smoothly.
  • Arrange and manage the relevant due diligence by 3rd party consultant such as by lawyer, tax advisor, technical consultant, market research, etc etc.
  • Prepare internal approval documentations in accordance with Company rule.

2. Business Planning and support as Region Headquarter in business development

  • Establish business development strategy by coordinating with managements and relevant corporate divisions in headquarter in Japan.
  • Prepare necessary business reporting and documentation requirement by relevant corporate divisions in headquarter in Japan, either in Japanese or English as required.
  • Prepare accounts and financial information of the region's non-shipping business activities.
  • Support the projects handled by the other MOL Group companies as the Regional HQ, in marketing activities and necessary due diligence for investment decision making.

3. Any other ad-hoc jobs required by the General Manager

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in business development in shipping companies.
  • Good interpersonal skills, due diligence, accountable, initiative and willingness to learn.
  • Good team player with a positive working attitude and strong mindset of collaboration.
  • Good ability of logical thinking and explanation to others.
  • Time-management abilities, fast learner, meticulous, detail-oriented and able to work independently
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Proficient writing and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese Language to communicate with Japanese Clients and stakeholders who are native Japanese speaker and to prepare reports in Japanese for the use in MOL Head Office in Japan.
  • Presentation skill is required.
  • Project management skill is required.
  • PL/BS/Cashflow analysis skill is required.
  • Good supporting attitude for Business Development Team in each country in Southeast Asia & Oceania.
  • Able to travel for business trip if required.
