Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Coordination of Moves: Oversee the logistics of residential and commercial moves, ensuring that all stages (packing, transporting, and unpacking) are well-coordinated.
    Schedule moving dates, allocate resources (trucks, labor), and ensure timely execution of each move.
  2. Customer Interaction and Service:Communicate with customers to understand their moving needs and provide quotes or estimates.
    Address any concerns or issues that arise during the moving process to ensure customer satisfaction.
    Provide support and guidance to customers on best practices for packing, moving, and unpacking.
  3. Fleet and Resource Management:Manage a fleet of moving trucks and coordinate the logistics of vehicle deployment.
    Ensure that moving equipment (dollies, packing materials, boxes, etc.) is available and in good condition.
  4. Inventory Management:Oversee the packing and inventorying of items before moving them. Ensure all items are accounted for before, during, and after the move.
    Keep track of moving equipment, tools, and supplies.
  5. Team Management:Lead and supervise moving staff, ensuring they are properly trained in handling delicate or large items.
    Manage the workforce schedule, including assigning teams to different moving jobs.
  6. Quality Control and Safety:Ensure that moves are executed smoothly and safely, adhering to company protocols and best practices.
    Monitor that all safety regulations and guidelines are followed to avoid accidents or damage to goods.
  7. Cost Control:Assist in budgeting and cost management of each move to ensure efficiency while maintaining profitability.
    Identify areas where cost savings can be made, such as optimizing routes or reducing vehicle maintenance costs.
  8. Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of each move, including client details, inventory lists, and billing information.
    Ensure compliance with regulations, including insurance paperwork for goods in transit.
  9. Problem Resolution:Handle any issues that arise during the moving process (delays, damage, customer complaints) and resolve them efficiently.
Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Educational Background: Diploma in logistics, business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not always required.
  2. Customer Service Skills:Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and employees.
    Ability to understand client needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  3. Time Management:Ability to manage multiple moving projects simultaneously and prioritize based on urgency and resources.
  4. Technical Skills:Proficiency in logistics software or basic tools for scheduling and tracking moves.
    Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation purposes.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills:Ability to think quickly and resolve issues such as delays, damaged goods, or last-minute changes to the moving plan.
  6. Leadership and Team Management:Experience managing or leading a team of movers, drivers, or operational staff.
    Ability to motivate and direct teams while ensuring quality service.
  7. Physical and Organizational Skills:Good physical condition to inspect equipment, perform occasional lifting tasks, and manage the moving process effectively.
    Strong organizational skills for scheduling, inventory control, and documentation.
  8. Safety and Compliance Knowledge:Understanding of safety regulations related to moving and transportation, including handling fragile items.
    Familiarity with legal and insurance requirements for the moving industry.
  9. Flexibility:Ability to work on weekends or during peak moving seasons.
    Flexibility to adapt to customer requests or last-minute changes to plans.
